Luxury fashion brand Gucci kicked off Milan Fashion Week in a typical eccentric style with models carried replicas of their own heads on a runway transformed into a creepy operating room.
Male and female models walked onto a runway amid operating tables under bright neon lights in the Gucci Hub, the brandโs Milan headquarters, over the steady beeping of a heart monitoring machine.
Not only did some carry replicas of their own severed head, but others were adorned with a third eye, or even a baby dragon. However, designer Giorgio Armani wasnโt a fan.
Armani slammed Gucci for going โoverboardโ with their latest runway collection. The veteran designer, 83, hit out at the fashion house for their controversial Autumn/Winter 2018 presentation last week.
“He insisted that itโs important not to go “overboard” with staging, but to let the clothes do the talking,” Armani stated.
Though he didnโt mention the brand, or creative director Alessandro Michele, by name, he said, “I donโt want to be a part of this. Fashion canโt be a means to have the media talk about you.
