Florence Biennal is a 10-day event being held from 18th October to 27th October 2019 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy. This represents a showcase of excellence for contemporary artistic production at the international level.  Over the years thousands of artists from over a hundred countries have exhibited their works at the Florence Biennal, which brings in the main art forms and disciplines.

The XIIth Florence Biennal, ARS ET INGENIUM: Toward Leonardo da Vinci’s Legacy of Similitude and Invention,  celebrates the art and genius of Leonardo da Vinci, which includes Drawing & Calligraphy, Painting, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Ceramic Art, Textile & Fiber Art, Jewellery Art, Photography, New Media Art, Video Art, Installation Art, and Performance Art.

It was surprising to meet mr Roy Bushmann (fashion photographer) in person at the biennial, “I’m curious to see the connection between Art and Design.” said Mr. Bushmann, “This is not my usual style and focus, but the fact that this year The Florence Biennal has engaged in design fascinates me. Thanks to FashionHarp again for being the first fashion website to shed the light on breakthrough projects in events such as Florence Biennal.”

Indeed, the Design exhibition, to be set up by a renowned studio of architecture and design, represents an attempt to showcase new ideas for innovation and development while fostering values such as aesthetics and sustainability. They compete in six contest categories, namely Architecture & Town DesignIndustrial & Product DesignInterior DesignFashion & Jewellery DesignCommunication & Graphic Design, and Technology & Game Design.
